BiographyAlben William Barkley was born on 24 November 1877 in Kentucky. He served as the 35th vice president of the United States from 1949-1953 under President Harry S. Truman. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1913-1927 representing Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Senate from 1927-1949 and 1955-1956 representing Kentucky. He died on 30 April 1956 in Lexington, Virginia.
