BiographyBarry Morris Goldwater was born on 2 January 1909 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a major general in the Air Force Reserve. Goldwater served as a United States senator from 1953-1965 and 1969-1987, and was the Republican Party's unsuccessful nominee for President in 1964. He died on 29 May 1998 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
