BiographyThe J.M. Ney Company was founded in 1812 in Hartford, Connecticut. The company initially offered gold refining services, but expanded to provide numerous products for the dental industry. In the 1950s the business diversified to include the development of custom alloys and precision components for many industrial, automotive, and electronic device applications. The dental business was divested during the mid-1990s.

In 1956, the company moved to Bloomfield, Connecticut. In 2002, the J.M. Ney Company was purchased by the Deringer Manufacturing Company, and is now known as Deringer-Ney, Inc., which invents, develops, and supplies custom precious metal alloys and precision components for various applications.
