DescriptionFORGERY - SEE NOTES Cast pewter inkwell. The inkwell consists of a round pewter plate with a round hole in the center, surrounded by an arch of five smaller round holes. The location of the smaller holes is marked by an arched pair of incised lines. The plate is soldered to the rim of a hollow container with a tapered neck, a deeply recessed body, and a flared foot. The inkwell is scratched. The top and underside have multiple small dents.

MarkingsJacob's Mark 100 - The underside of the inkwell has two marks. The first consists of "J. DANFORTH" inside a rectangle. The second mark is just below this and consists of "No. 14".
