DescriptionCast pewter water pitcher with a low, stepped-domed lid with a small, disc-shaped finial. The lid is joined to the body of the teapot by a hinge at one side. The pitcher has a flared rim, a baluster-shaped body, and a flared foot. The body of the pitcher has two raised bands: one just below the neck, and another at the widest part of the body. At one side, a cast, solid ear-shaped handle is soldered to the body of the pitcher. The handle has a small scroll, or spur, at the top. Opposite the handle is a curved spout that is soldered to the body of the pitcher; the spout covers pierced holes in the side of the pitcher. There is light tarnish over all the exterior surfaces of the pitcher. The pitcher has shallow dents and is lightly scratched.
