DescriptionCylindrical, wide-mouthed, grey stoneware preserve jar with a salt glaze on the exterior and a brown slip glaze, or Albany-type glaze, on the interior. The preserve jar has a plain rim, with an incised band and incised line circling the jar just below the rim. Below this, on one side, is an impressed mark, "C. CROLIUS/ MANUFACTURER./ MANHATTAN-WELLS/ NEW-YORK". On the opposite side of the jar, also below the impressed line, is an impressed mark, "PEACHES". Six wide brush strokes of cobalt blue radiate outward from both impressed marks. There are two chips where the sides meet the bottom of the jar, and one gouge on the lower side of the preserve jar.

On the opposite side of the jar, also below the impressed line, is an impressed mark, "PEACHES".InscribedThere is a square, cream-colored paper label with the printed words, "George S.
