BiographyIn the 18th century, William Crolius and his partner, John Remmey, opened a stoneware pottery in lower Manhattan. The business eventually dissolved, and each continued working in his own name in the same area. William Crolius's business was carried on by several generations of his family into the late nineteenth century.
