DescriptionRound, porcelain teacup (.a) and saucer (.b) with gilding and enameling in orange and black. Both the teacup and saucer have a gilded rim with a band of orange just below which has a gilded scalloped line on either side. The band of orange is interrupted three times by a symmetrical cluster of scrolls in black and gilt. The gilded initials "C.L.K." are found opposite the handle of the teacup. The gilding has worn off portions of the handle of the teacup and the rims of the teacup and saucer. There is a hairline crack running through the center of the saucer.

MarkingsRed, overglaze, printed retailer's mark on the bottom of both the teacup and saucer consists of an oval made up of a dotted line. Inside is the name "RICHARD BRIGGS/ BOSTON".InscribedThe initials "C.L.K." in wide bands of gilding are found opposite the handle of the teacup.
