DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a rounded yoke made of alternating vertical strips of fine whitework embroidery and lace insertion. The yoke is surrounded by a three-inch self-fabric ruffle edged with scalloped lace. The neckline is high and round; it is circumscribed by pale straw-colored silk ribbon woven in and out of eyelet. The ribbon also appears around the outside edge of the yoke. The sleeves are gathered at the shoulder. They are also gathered across the back of the wrist at the openings, which are edged with the silk ribbon and lace. The body of the dress is gathered into the yoke and falls straight to the hem, which is 4 1/2-inches deep and headed by pulled threadwork. The center back opening is about 10 1/4 inches long and fastens with the silk ribbon ties at the yoke.
