DescriptionSixth plate daguerreotype of Eleanor Mills Bissell (married to Thomas Bissell) by an unknown photographer. Bissell is pictured in older age, in a three-quarter profile view. She is wearing a ruffled white daycap (or bonnet, but probably a daycap) that is tied under her chin. Her dress appears to have buttons down the front. It has a relatively deep v-neck and wide sleeves. In addition to the fabric from the daycap, she is also wearing a chemisette or kerchief or a similar garment that covers her chest.
