DescriptionThree-quarter length studio portrait of Emily "Milly" Cheney as a young woman. She is standing and looking at the camera. Emily is wearing a light colored silk dress with puffed half sleeves and pointed sleeve caps. A piece of sheer material with a lace edge hangs over the torso of the dress, attached near the neckline. There is a cluster of flowers pinned to her right shoulder and she is holding a rose in her hands. Emily's hair is pulled back into an updo. There is a thick curtain hanging behind her, partially covering a backdrop with a landscape scene.
