DescriptionOfficial United States Navy Service Dress Blue uniform with Lt. Commander (O-4) insignia worn by Matthew Woods. Uniform consists of (a) navy blue jacket and (b) pants, (c) white shirt, (d) black hand-tied tie, and (e) black belt, which are worn together. The (f) vest is an optional garment, which would be worn during onshore command, rather than at sea.

(a) The jacket, size 48 long, is a double-breasted coat made of a blue wool blend with three 35-line Navy eagle gilt buttons down each forefront. The coat has a sword slit over the proper left hip and three exterior pockets, one at the proper right and left hip, and one on the proper left breast. The proper right and left cuffs are decorated with three gold stripes and a gold star patch, indicating the rank of Lt. Commander. The interior of the coat features a black synthetic satin lining with pockets on the proper left and right breasts. There is a label on the interior proper right breast pocket reading “Patriot® styled by Weintraub Bros. Co. Dry Clean Only.” A label affixed to the interior collar reads, “Made in USA by American Craftsmen Dry Clean Only.”

(b) The pants are constructed of blue wool blend and have fore and aft creases, belt loops, and a zippered fly front closure. There are four pockets, two side pockets, and two back pockets. There is a label affixed to the interior proper right rear pocket that reads, “Davis Clothing Company Brockton Massachusetts.”

(c) The uniform shirt is plain white poplin, with long sleeves with plain buttons, convertible cuffs, with epaulets, and with a proper left breast pocket. A label affixed at the center interior collar reads, “Flying Cross Regulation USN Permapress Poplin,” a tag next to the label reads, “17½ 37.”

(e) The belt is constructed of black nylon webbing and fitted with a gold colored metal clip, the gold belt clip indicates the wearer is an officer.

(f) The vest has four front pockets, two per side, 6 brass colored buttons, and a belt closure in the back. Belt (e) is constructed of black nylon webbing and fitted with a gold colored metal clip, the gold belt clip indicates the wearer is an officer.
