[pencil written notes are NOT Lou's]NotesLou Frink was an enthusiastic hunter and fisher. Lou's animal depictions tend to be very detailed, capturing their characteristics. This shows how familiar and knowledgeable he was about wildlife. Lou would often accompany Julian Alden Weir on hunting and fishing trips. The latter even painted a portrait of Lou wearing his iconic hunting whistle and bullet jacket.
The figure depicted in this drawing matches the hunter shown in drawing 1973.25.2, identifiable by his identical green clothing, bucket hat, and the same rifle he carries in both works.
