DescriptionSixth-plate daguerreotype of an unknown woman, possibly a member of the Burleigh family, by an unknown photographer. The woman is in her late thirties or early forties. She is wearing a dark dress with a narrow bodice over a corset. The long sleeves of the dress are capped at the upper arms with shorter sleeves. She is wearing a turned-down lace collar over what appear to be lace ribbons. Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back, her ears visible.
