DescriptionCast pewter ashtray consisting of a round tray with a relatively deep well, and a rim shaped at the outer edge with S-curves and reverse S-curves. The ashtray has a handle that rises high above the tray; the upper portion of the handle is also shaped in an S-curve and a reverse S-curve. The handle is soldered to the underside and edge of the rim. The ashtray is lightly tarnished and has some dirt adhered to the well.

MarkingsThe underside of the ashtray has an oval, impressed mark consisting of "INSICO", over a teapot, an anchor, and a sugar bowl, over "PEWTER". Below this is the impressed number "316".
