DescriptionYoung woman's work dress of red, white, olive brown, and pale tan madras plaid. The dress has a wide, round neckline controlled by a drawstring. The neckline is piped. The short, puffed sleeves are gathered into the armscye, which is at the natural shoulderline, and into a narrow band at the arm opening. The bodice is gathered into a 1 1/2-inch wide waistband across the center front and center back; it is stitched smoothly around the sides. The skirt is closely gathered into the waistband. The hem is lined for six inches with a green, pink, white, and yellow madras plaid. The center back opening extends 22 inches and fastens with two mother of pearl buttons on the waistband and one at the neckline, along with the drawstring.
