DescriptionAdolescent girl's dress of white cotton with a woven stripe, cylinder-printed with a trumpet-shaped floral design. The dress has a wide neckline, edged with piping and a self-fabric ruffle. The bodice front is overlapped diagonally, left over right, with gathering from the waist to the opposing shoulder. The neckline ruffle continues down the edge of the bodice left front. The leg-o'-mutton sleeves are gathered into the armscye; they taper and curve to the 1 1/2-inch-wide cuff. The shoulder seam, armscye, underarm sleeve seam, and cuff edges are all piped. The full skirt is gathered all around the 1 3/4-inch-wide waistband. The center back opening is seventeen inches long and fastens with brass hooks and eyes. Faux curved side back seams are created with piping. The side seams are also piped. The bodice is lined with plain cotton.
