DescriptionWoman's ecru silk day dress, with a wide neckline edged with heavy self-covered piping. The bodice front is gathered horizontally from shoulderline to shoulderline; a doubled length of the piping extends from the center front of the waistline to the neckline, over the gathering. The shoulder seams, armscyes, center back seams, and center back opening edge are also piped. The long sleeves are full at the top, being gathered into the armscye. The fullness is supported by stiff cotton net on the inside of the top of the sleeve. A piped strap with a non-functioning self-covered button hooks over the sleeve above the elbow. The sleeves end in a six-inch-wide, piped cuff with a vandyked opening and self-covered non-functional buttons. The cuffs hook at the wrist openings. The waistline is high, measuring five inches at the side under the armscye. The bodice is lined with plain-woven undyed cotton. The center back closes with hooks and eyes. The skirt is set into the waistband with narrow pleats at center front, and is gathered around the rest of the waist.
