DescriptionView of a garden at the Frank Woodbridge Cheney house in South Manchester, Connecticut. There is a low platform, with two small pillows resting in the middle of it, set in front of a wooden fence. There are two large urns filled with flowers sitting on the platform, and there are beds of flowers on either side. There is foliage along the top of the fence.

The photograph is attached to a piece of cardstock that is gray on the recto and beige on the verso.

Context note: Ruth and Charles were married on the lawn at Ruth's mother's house, the Frank W. Cheney house, in South Manchester, Connecticut. The Hartford Courant described the setting as an artificial Japanese garden, decorated with roses and laurel. Charles's father, the Rev. Dr. Francis Goodwin, was the officiant.

Ruth was the youngest child of Frank W. Cheney and Mary Bushnell. Charles was the son of Rev. Francis Goodwin and Mary Alsop Jackson.
