DescriptionBust-length miniature portrait of a woman with blue eyes, pale complexion, and brown hair. She is wearing a white cap with open work, trimmed with lace and blue ribbon bows. A blue ribbon bow also ties at her neck under her chin. The woman is also wearing a white pelerine, a blue shawl which drapes over her left shoulder, and a black dress. Miniature is encased in a rectangular wooden case covered with red leather with two brass hooks and leather hinges. Inside of case is lined with white satin cushion.

InscribedAccording to museum records, written in pencil on a piece of cardboard on the back of the miniature, behind the ivory reads: "Painted by F.R. Spencer- / from a Miniature by / A.
