DescriptionBust length miniature of a woman facing slightly to her left. She has blue eyes with brown hair parted at center and tucked under a dark blue bonnet that wraps around the face and ties tight under the chin with long ribbons; a small floral arrangement is attached to either side of bonnet covering the ears. She wears a matching dark blue gown with a high lace collar, and a gold brooch or locket with the image of person on it.
Portrait is set in a black painted wood frame with a gold border around image. Nailed to verso of frame is a black, heavy paper material with a gold suspension loop at top; hand written in black ink across top, "Mrs. Henry Albert Seymour". Placed across backing are four stickers, printed across the first, "GEORGE DUDLEY SEYMOUR"; hand written in ink across the second, "No-14-/ Milrded C. Jordan_/ Portrait:/ by/ Mr. Seymour"; the third sticker is white with a red border and has two stamps, the first is a set of wings, and the second is the monogram, "GDS"; the final sticker is red and printed across in white, "CUTLER'S/ ART STORE/ NEW HAVEN".
