BiographyAnson Dickinson was born on 19 April 1779 in Milton, Connecticut, a villiage in the northwest corner of Litchfield, the son of Oliver Dickinson, Jr. and Anna Landon. In 1803, Dickinson launched his career as a painter in Litchfield as a painter of miniature portraits. He married Sarah Brown on 30 June 1812 in New York City. He died on 9 March 1852 in Milton, Connecticut.
