DescriptionRound, porcelain teacup (.a) and saucer (.b) with gilding and overglaze enamels in blue, peach, green, and purple. Both are decorated in a similar manner. A feathered line of gilding outlines the center of the saucer and the foot of the teacup. Then, blue bands of enamel outlined in gilding separate the saucer and teacup into four panels. Each panel is blue at the bottom but fades to a peach background at the top. Small purple flowers on swagged vines are painted over the peach background. There is a line of blue flowers at the rim of the saucer and teacup. The rim of the teacup is gilded, as is the handle. The inside of the rim of the teacup is decorated with a band of elaborate gilding, consisting of swags and scrolls with medallions hanging down. A gilded six-pointed star of leaves and vines decorates the center of the saucer and the bottom inside of the teacup.

MarkingsTwo marks are found on the bottom of both the teacup and the saucer. The first is an underglaze green printed mark of a slightly curved "Haviland" over "France" in a straight line. The second is an overglaze red printed mark of a curved "Haviland & Co." over "Limoges" in a straight line.
