DescriptionInfant's pinafore, made of calico with a very small, closely packed print of a simple red bud with two brown leaf-like motifs. The pinafore is constructed of a rectangle of fabric, with rounded notches for the armholes along the top. Narrow hems finish the bottom and top front edges, and the right edge of the center back opening; the selvage is used for the left opening edge. Self-fabric ties close the pinafore. The sides of the back are gathered into a narrow self-fabric binding. A narrow strap is stitched over the shoulder, and a 1 1/2-inch ruffle encircles the resulting armhole. The armhole seam is piped.
