DescriptionA barefoot boy stands at the right, holding a sickle above his head in his right hand, confronting a large wolf, who stands at the left. Two smaller children cower behind the boy. The boy wears a shirt, open to the waist, trousers, a jacket, and a straw hat. The children wear smocks. Baskets of firewood are at the right and behind the children. Leaves are on the ground. A grassy lawn or field surrounded by trees is in the background.
