DescriptionRedware pitcher with a plain rim, cylindrical neck, globular body, round foot, and a slightly recessed bottom. A slender, pulled strap handle connects the rim and body of the pitcher. The exterior of the pitcher is covered with an all over, irregular slip decoration. The lead glaze has caused the white slip to appear yellow; there are additional areas of brown decoration in the translucent glaze. A relatively large area of ceramic is exposted on the side of the pitcher to the right of the handle; this probably occurred during firing in the kiln.
There is crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the pitcher. Flakes of glaze are missing from the base of the handle and from the sides of the pitcher to the lower right and left of the handle. There are multiple small chips in the rim, and one larger chip in the foot of the pitcher.
