DescriptionSmall, round, ironstone plate with a transfer-printed underglaze brown, green, and blue pattern and underglaze brown border. The circular pattern shows a small thatched house in the middle distance, with two small figures to the right. In the distance, on a hill, are the ruins of an extensive stone structure. A blue, cloudless sky is above the scene. The pattern is surrounded by an undecorated area, then an underglaze brown border. White and brown flowers, leaves, and butterflies are superimposed on a light brown field.
The entire plate has many scratches to the glaze, and additional glaze is worn off the edge of the rim. The beginnings of some light crazing and discoloration are visible on the bottom of the plate. Additionally, a three-part crack is visible where the foot and the body of the ceramic meet, to the lower left of the pattern.
