DescriptionRound, earthenware vase with an all over silver luster. The vase has a flared rim, tapered body, and a wide foot. There are two decorative bands circling the vase that consist of four lines of beading, located just above the foot and about two inches below the rim. The silver luster, actually composed of platinum oxide, was applied over a dark brown glaze.
The vase has one small chip at the rim, which leads to a hairline crack that runs one-third of the way down the body of the vase. There are scratches in the silver luster all over the vase, probably the result of manufacture and use over time.
