DescriptionSmall mug of buff-colored earthenware with a blue-tinted glaze, a type of ceramic known as pearlware. The mug is decorated with one line of black enamel at the rim and another running down the handle. The handle was formed in a mold and applied to the mug. Opposite the handle, the mug is decorated with a transfer-printed scene titled "THE PRETTY DOVES". A young girl stands in a field with trees and bushes in the background. She is wearing a calf-length dress with short, puffy sleeves. The girl is holding a dove and standing next to a table that holds a cage.

The mug has crazing overall, a few spots of brown discoloration on the inside, and two chips on the bottom of the foot. There is a hairline crack running from the rim almost to the foot.
