DescriptionRound, Chinese export porcelain bowl with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The bottom of the inside shows a dragon staring up out of the bowl. It is surrounded by thick curved lines. The interior sides of the bowl have been left white, with a border of flowers and leaves at the inside rim. The outside of the bowl has been decorated with an abstract pattern of vines, leaves, and flowers. This pattern is interrupted four times by white areas with flowers and birds inside. Imperfections in the porcelain appear as black dots on the surface of the bowl.
