NotesDate note: This copy was probably made in 1953. The photograph itself likely dates to the late 19th or early 20th Century.

The photograph was accompanied by a letter from "F. D. C." (probably Frank Dexter Cheney) to Mr. Ward Cheney, dated January 26, 1953. It reads as follows: " Dear Ward, / The best picture of the Anne W. and Louise / house which we have been able to locate was in / an album belonging to Cousin Cass. I borrowed / it from her and had this photograph made which / I enclose herewith for you. If you wish / additional copies let me know. / This seems to me to be excellent and I hope it will serve your purpose."

The Anne W. Cheney mansion is no longer extant.
