DescriptionA young girl sits on the ground at the left beside a marble monument with a rectangular base surmounted by an urn or lamp. She wears a black dress with a wide neckline and long sleeves. She holds a waterlily blossom in her right hand and holds a handkerchief to her face with her left hand. She appears to be weeping. Her back rests against a weeping willow tree at the far left, which arches over the monument. Ivy grows on the tree trunk. Roses and lilies grow at the base of the monument. Waterlily flowers and leaves float in a pond in the right foreground. Two paths converge in the background, and the resulting single path leads to a church. Trees and houses are in the distance.
