DescriptionRectangular stencil made of rolled brass or copper sheet metal with the words: "C.S. AMBULANCE/WORKS/Richmond,Va." incised in the metal. The stencil would have been used to apply a painted inscription onto cloth bags, wooden boxes, the sides of horsedrawn carts, etc.
