The decanter is molded in a raised geometric "sunburst" motif, in this case consisting of swirled ribbing at the shoulders, a band of square panels with a sunburst inside circling the body, and a ribbed band at the bottom. There are some light scratches on the exterior of the decanter. The stopper is missing.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
