DescriptionGirl's dress of white cotton ottoman (woven with a heavy rib), with a high, round neckline edged with a ruffle of machine-made eyelet embroidery. The princess-line dress flares from the waistline to the hem. The front and back of the dress are inserted with 1 3/4-inch-wide strips of eyelet embroidery following the princess line from shoulder to hem. The eyelet insertions are flanked by white cotton soutache braid laid in a undulating looped pattern. The shoulder line is dropped and the armscyes are piped. The long, two-piece sleeves are curved. They are edged at the wrists with a 2 1/4-inch-wide ruffle of the eyelet lace, which continues up the five-inch-long opening of the seam at the back of the arm. The front of the sleeve is also decorated at the wrist with a 3 3/4-inch-long vertical insertion of the eyelet, bordered by the soutache. The bottom of the dress is edged with a ruffle of the eyelet, with piping stitched into the seam. The center back opening extends sixteen inches and fastens with seven mismatched mother of pearl buttons and one shanked button and loop at the neckline.
