DescriptionTeardrop-shaped or liberty cap-style hatplate. Painted black with red border that encloses a gold eagle with outspread winds and a red shield on its chest. Below the eagle is the legend "LT IN / Co. 22d R", identifying the hatplate as belonging to a light infantry company.
