DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a square neckline edged with scalloped whitework embroidery, and controlled by a drawstring. The bodice front has a V-shaped decoration of whitework embroidery bordered by scalloped edging. The embroidery in the center is fan-shaped, with a garland of flowers. The short, puffed sleeves are embroidered with flowers at the top. The skirt hem is seven inches deep and is headed by an insertion of whitework flanked by faggoting. The bottom of the bodice front is worked with a row of eyelets which may originally have been laced with a ribbon for tying around the waist. The center back opening extends 9 1/2 inches and fastens with drawstrings at the neck and waist.
