DescriptionRanks of men parade down Main Street, Hartford. Men and women look on from the sidewalks. Commercial buildings line the street. Most buildings have awnings. Some are decorated with American flags and bunting. Signs read: "PRINTING" "EMPLOYMENT OFFICE" "H. ECKHARDT / ENGRAVINGS / PHOTOGRAPHS. The Putnam Phalanx Armory and the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company are visible in 2002.112.2 and 2002.112.3. The Gothic revival church in 2002.112.1 is St. John's Episcopal Church. Trolley tracks are in the road. Horse-drawn vehicles are at the right in two photographs. 2002.112.1 and 2002.112.2 include leafless trees; the trees in 2002.112.3 have leaves. 2002.112.1, and possibly 2002.112.2, show Spanish American War volunteers leaving Hartford. 2002.112.3 is a different parade.
