DescriptionWoman's white cotton chemise, with a wide neckline created by a 3/4-inch-wide band. The body of the chemise is gathered into this neckline band. The center front placket opening is six inches long and fastens with a white glass button at the top. The sleeves are 2 1/4 inches wide, and meet the neckline band in a point at the top of the shoulders. The armhole is reinforced with a one-inch-wide self-fabric lining. The chemise has been cut off and hemmed by hand to be about hip-length.

MarkingsPrinted label stitched inside right armhole: design of eagle and shield and "American/ TRADEMARK". The label is sewn in a loop the other side reads: "MADE WITH/ CLEAN AND/ HEALTHFUL/ CONDITIONS" "OFFICIAL LABEL/ NATIONAL/ CONSUMERS/ LEAGUE/ REGISTERED NOV [illegible]" and "USE OF LABEL/ AUTHORIZED/ AFTER/ INVESTIGATION" AND "LICENSE No.119".
