DescriptionMan, wearing a vest and cap, holds two horses with the stumps of his arms, which have been amputated just below the elbow. One horse is hitched to a sulky. It has leather (and metal?) patches strapped to its legs. A large barn is in the background. Notes on back: "George Deming / lost his arms on State Capitol Grounds / fireing [sic] a cannon during Civil War Days. / How He Could Drive Horses."
