NotesSubject Note: Preliminary drawing for Connecticut Historical Collections, John Warner Barber, New Haven, 1836. Chatham was the former name for East Middletown, which included Portland, Middle Haddam and East Hampton. Portland split off in 1841 and Chatham remained as the name for East Hampton until 1916.
