DescriptionIndustrial buildings line a broad street, which, according to Barber's text leads from the Connecticut River to the East. The large building on the right is surrounded by a picket fence. Three men and a boy are depicted. Only one small tree is visible. Farther down the road a church and a building with a tavern sign are visible. The factories in Thompsonville began manufacturing carpeting in the late 1820s
