DescriptionView of Lyme from the west bank of the Lieutenant River. A man drives a horse-drawn vehicle along a road behind a stone wall in the foreground. The road leads across a bridge towards a cluster of houses and other buildings. The Congregational Church is in the center of the composition. The hills beyond the town are largely bare of trees.
