DescriptionA man, woman and child stand in front of a house of public entertainment on the corner of two roads in Southbury. A stone wall and large elm trees line the road in the foreground. The large building with columns and a portico on the side belonged to M. S. Mitchell Esq. Outbuildings can be seen to its rear and what is probably a tavern sign is visible in the front.
