DescriptionSketch of Leesville taken from the hill on the road leading to Middletown. The Salmon River flows over a low dam at lower left and under and arched bridge in the center of the composition. The large building on the far side of the river, surrounded by smaller buildings, is probably the cotton mill, which Barber mentions in his text. A road winds up over the hill to the right. The steep hills in the background are largely treeless
