DescriptionView of four women and two boys sitting on the porch of a log cabin in Keene Valley, New York. The porch is only slightly elevated from ground level. One boy, probably Roger Williams Cheney, sits on the left with his feet on the ground, resting his head on his hands. The four women sit on the right side of the porch, also with their feet touching the ground. The two to the left are working on sewing projects in their laps, and the one furthest to the left is probably Mary Pierson Cheney, Roger's mother. The other boy is sitting behind the group of women. The cabin has a double-wide opening, and a large fireplace can be seen inside. There is a covered walkway in the background, just to the right of the cabin.
