DescriptionHorace Bushnell Cheney, Jr. sits on the left side of the porch of a log cabin, looking down at something in his hands. His younger brother, Stephen Pierson Cheney, sits to the right. Stephen is resting the muzzle of a rifle against his knees with his left hand, and has his right arm extended backwards, holding a ramrod. Behind Horace is an open doorway. Between the two boys there are two fishing nets, resting against the front wall of the cabin. Behind Stephen to the right is a wooden folding chair, with a cloth draped over it.
