DescriptionWoman's hip-length nightgown, made of coarse, plain-woven cotton. It opens the length of the center front and fastens with five white glass buttons. The neckline is high and round, finished with a 7/8-inch-wide standing band collar. The back of the garment is gathered into the neckline. The shoulderline is dropped; the armscyes are piped. The full sleeves are gathered into a 1 1/4-inch- wide cuff, which closes with a single button. The sleeve fabric is pressed near the wrist. This garment is entirely unornamented.

NotesHistorical Note: Lucina Pernella Peck (1806-1880) married Halsey Brown (d. 1887) on 22 November 1843. She was his second wife. Both were from East Haddam, Connecticut.
