Her career, four marriages and political interests took her all over the globe, including a brief one-year stint in Connecticut from 1926 to 1927. In the 1930s, she published her first volume of short stories, "Flowering Judas and Other Stories," to great acclaim. In 1962, her only novel, "Ship of Fools," was published, cementing her reputation as a "literary celebrity." It was her 1964 book, "The Collected Stories of Katherine Anne Porter," that received the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
