Center, pencil: "1974"NotesSubject Note: Eleanor Perenyi (1918 - 2009) was a writer best known for "Green Thoughts," her collection of essays on gardening inspired by years of tending her Stonington, Connecticut, garden. She also wrote the books "More Was Lost," "The Bright Sword," and "Liszt: The Artist as Romantic Hero," which was a finalst for the National Book Award in 1974. In 1982, she received an award in literature from the American Academy & Institute of Arts and Letters.
